Ive only come across this theory in the internet and Scifi's Sightings program.I know the evidence that supports this theory involves sculptures and pyramids. Is that all? Ive read several articles such as National Geographic and Time regarding the migration of man to the Americas and there is only mention of Asia but recently Europe (as posted in another thread). Supposedly the sculptures have ties to west Africa but how are the pyramids explained? From what I know pyramids are found in Egypt.

That "theory" is totally without fundament and ridiculous.
Not only where there drums, but other percussion instruments as well, used to implement layered rythms.
Besides flutes, we also had shells in which to create a variety of sounds including wind melodies and persussive rythms. As did many cultures around the world. Blowing into a shell is easily one of the most primitive forms of music along with percussive items such as rocks and wood.
So one cannot say that the drum came from Africa, ot be foolish to think so. That's like saying whistling comes from ancient China, when in fact whistling is perfectly natural.
Supposedly they said they found significant amount of skulls of non-Amerindian in South America from Australian aborigines. That there were other established races here in the Americas coinciding or before the Asian bearing straight settlers.

Yo anyone who have read my post know I don't insult... Thats the last thing.... If you take truth and call it an Insult than you got issues.... You might want to beleive you are native but I truly doubt it.... Natives with direct ties to the land are doing well with Gamining casinos now.... They are not reping on BP....

I won't even comment on it, do the research yourself.
On this whole issue on the Olmecs I just have a question for you guys regarding what I haven't seen mentioned on the thread. I'm almost sure of the response, I've read both sides of this debate for a few years. I don't get into it like that because somethings we just will never know. Even things we might think we know now, don't necessarily mean we know and can change with time as many things accepted by "scholars" at one point were not true! I also see a trend in this as the Afrocentrists are completely on on side of this and the people who pride themselves in being native (separists)are completely on the other side. They feel as if Olmecs were truely african it somehow takes away from their accomplishments which I believe shouldn't be. It sort of reminds me of the Afrocentric person who finds out they have a few ancestors who were white and they just can't deal with it(as in their minds it makes them less black affecting their afrocentric pride). No matter what the case is, it is still our accomplishments and we should be open to just learning the truth. It would simply mean that we also have roots with another great people. Therefore I am not completely to one side or the other on this. I keep an open ear to both sides of the debate without being bias for personal reasons.
My questions , are as follows.
What is thought of the olmec skeletal site where it was evidenced that they were analogous to the west african skeletons?
Also I believe reading about pottery and simiar patterns/designs to those of west africa. I'm just looking for perhaps more info to debate this than what I have previously read. I know there are many more things that weren't addressed here, If i remember them later I"ll ask.
