Rayleen gave up fighting because she knew he was right. He was gonna get what he wanted. She didn’t know how to feel. She knew she had to sooner or later. But that’s not exactly how she pictured her first time.

After he got what he wanted. It was quiet. She was so embarrassed because there was blood on the floor and some on their shirts. Rayleen was SO embarrassed. Theres no explaining how she felt. Theres no words for it. She was confused, hurt, sad, relieved it was over, and curious to what he was thinking and wondered if he realize what he just did.

As they were walking away from the restrooms, Rayleen decided to say something…

Rayleen: I can’t go to school like this.
Mario: Then don’t
Rayleen: I need to change.
Mario: You wanna wear my shirt?
Rayleen: Ya. Please.

So as he was taking off his shirt… The police passed by staring both of them down.
He got nervous because he had blood on his shirt and he didn’t want to get questioned.

But they kept driving and Mario walked her home. She stayed home and didn’t go to school. Mario hugged her before she walked into her house …

Mario: *hugging her* I love you ok?
Rayleen:*confused* ok
Mario: call me in 30 min. I should be home by then.
Rayleen:*walking into the house* ok

She went inside and took a shower and changed into some warm clothes. She really liked Mario but she couldn’t tell if what he did that day was rape or not. She didn’t want to believe that it was. So she just told herself to forget about it. That she was just being dramatic. Rayleen forgot about it and moved on.

The next couple days she didn’t go to school. Rayleen was with him everyday. Instead of going to that park every morning, she just invited him to her house when everyone left to school and work. Everything was going good those couple days. But she decided to finally go to school on the last day. But she still planned on meeting Mario in the morning at the store for a little bit.

Rayleen felt like riding the school bus that morning. Mario’s niece rode the same bus as Rayleen. Mario’s niece knew that they were together but didn’t talk to Rayleen much. Just a “hi” here and there.

When they got to Mario’s niece’s stop. She got on. And looked at Rayleen.
*Rayleen had a feeling that something bad happened. She could feel it by the look on his nieces’ face.*

Angela: Rayleen, Mario wanted me to tell you something…
*Rayleen had a weird feeling in her stomach.*
Rayleen: what?
Angela: The cops took him.
Rayleen: WHAT?! WHY?! WHAT DO YOU MEAN THEY TOOK HIM??
Angela: He got arrested. They took him to jail.
Rayleen: *confused and silent for a moment* for how long??
*Angela just shrugged her shoulders and walked off to her seat*

Rayleen just sat there in her seat. She wanted to cry so bad. She didn’t why he got locked or how long he was gonna be gone for. She had a million things going through her mind. Rayleen knew she was still gonna be his lady when he got out. It just sucked not knowing when she’d see him or hear his voice again. Everything was going so good. Until whatever the fuck he did.

A few days went by and she still thought of him everyday…ALL day.
Rayleen and her mom were leaving the house to go to the store when the phone rang.
She just knew it was him. She ran back inside when she heard the phone rang…

Rayleen: Hello?
Mario: What you doing?
Rayleen: *with a Big ass kool-aid smile* what the hell do you mean what am I doing??!!
You’ve been gone for a week and u the first thing u can say is what am I doing?!?
What the fuck are you doing??
Mario: creasing my pants hahahaha
Rayleen: that’s not funny. I missed you so much!!
Mario: ya I missed you too…I was thinking of you the whole time when I was gone.
Rayleen: really?? *smiled*
Mario: of coarse babe!
Rayleen: so why did u get locked up for ??

Mario: don’t trip. Come on lets kick it right now.

They kicked it that night and everything was finally back to being good again. She was so happy to see him again. And he seemed happy to see her too.

That weekend Rayleen visited her dad. Rayleen and her brother visited her dad every other weekend. That Saturday Rayleen’s dad took her to the fair with her brothers and stepmom, Veronica, who she was really close with. She could tell her anything.

Veronica was pushing Rayleen’s little brother in the stroller as they walked around the fair.

Veronica: so hows everything with you in Mario??
Rayleen: *smiled and looked down* good. I really like him.
Veronica: *stopped walking and looked at her* Something seems different about you
Rayleen: why?? *giggled and kept walking*
Veronica: *followed her* have you…..been with him? And I mean, you know…had sex with him?
Rayleen: *looked at her* how did u know?

So we walked up and went off to catch up to Rayleen’s dad and brother Robert. She kept wondering how crazy it would be if she really was pregnant!! But she didn’t think too much of it because she knew she wasn’t. But of coarse the thought always came back to her.

Two weeks passed and she still hadn’t got her period!! Rayleen went back to her dad’s to visit for the weekend. When her dad picked her up and took her back to his house she went straight to her room and dropped her bags. Rayleen laid on the bed and started to watch some T.V. Then Veronica walked in…

Veronica: So!!!
Rayleen: *giggled* WHAT?!?!?!
Veronica: Don’t play dumb….did u get it??

Veronica: ok then lets go.

Veronica: Target…we’re gonna buy a pregnancy test.

They got in the car and took off the store. Rayleen put a CD in and put it up real loud. Rayleen was nervous. She was glad that she was finally gonna get an answer though. She was tired of wondering.

*Rayleen turned down the music*
Rayleen: Veronica…
Veronica: wat?
Rayleen: did u tell my dad?
Veronica: no. but I should have.

Veronica: I might be pregnant too!
Rayleen: Veronica!! You just had Vincent!! And your pregnant again!!

Rayleen: You know dad’s not gonna want it. He’s gonna be so mad at you!! He didn’t even want Vincent. What makes u think he’s gonna want another one? He can’t even handle Me and Robert!! Vincent, he’s barely taking care of… He can’t handle another one. Veronica, you can’t be pregnant!
Veronica: *you can tell she was thinking of what I just said* Ya, mija your right. I don’t know what to do. But lets just hope that the both of us aren’t!

They bought the tests and went home quick! They had to buy other things though first so Rayleen’s dad didn’t know what they went to the store for. She when they got home, they hid the box and then went to Rayleen’s room and closed the door behind them…

Veronica: Here, you go first. *handed her one of them*
Rayleen: fuck that. You go first.
Veronica: Fine. Wish me luck!

Veronica went into the bathroom and came out.
Veronica: ok we’ll give it a couple minutes to settle. I put it under the sink so your dad wont see it. Hurry! Your turn now!! Put it somewhere when your done so if your dad goes in there he wont see it sitting there!! Hahahaha
Rayleen: ok *she couldn’t say nothing else she was so nervous*

Rayleen went inside the bathroom and put in under the other cabinet….

She came out and Veronica had such a worried face! That made Rayleen even nervous…
So a few minutes later Veronica went to look at hers.

Rayleen: WHAT DOES IT SAY??
Veronica: *smiled* Im not!!
Ok now what does yours say??

Rayleen checked it. She was so nervous she couldn’t understand how to read it.
She asked Veronica.

Veronica: I don’t know!! It looks like your not but … I DON’T KNOW!!
Wait….no … no your not. I think. Haha.
Rayleen: is it a yes or a no??
Veronica: No. *let out a breath of air* thank god.
But its still too early for a test to tell if you are. So if another week or 2 goes by then we’ll take another one.

Rayleen was more sure that she wasn’t now. But another week went by and nothing.
So she decided to call Veronica instead of waiting another week when she went to her dad’s.

Veronica: Hello?
Rayleen: Veronica!!

Veronica: what?!
Rayleen: I still haven’t got nothing!
Veronica: are you serious??
Ok. Well im making a doctors appointment for you.
Rayleen: NO!! let’s just take another test.
Veronica: I think the doctors would be better and more accurate..
Rayleen: I guess. *worried*
Veronica: ok I’ll call you right back.

Rayleen didn’t plan on telling Mario. She wasn’t gonna tell him unless she was. Aint no need to scare a foo like that!! Haha.

Rayleen was thinking all day and couldn’t concentrate on NOTHING.

Rayleen: what happened?
Veronica: well….ok… I can’t make an appointment for you unless your mom and dad gives me permission to take you. So… im gonna have to tell your dad ok?
Rayleen: veronica, NO! I can’t… he’s gonna be so mad! Who knows what he’s gonna do.. you know how he is.

The next week Rayleen went to her dads. When her dad picked her up he didn’t say anything. He never really talks to Rayleen anyways so she was wondering if Veronica even told him or not. Rayleen’s dad never showed emotion. He was always high and angry so she never knew what was going through his head. The whole drive to his house was awkward. Rayleen knew that he knew though. She just didn’t know what he was thinking.

When the got to the house Veronica was watching T.V. and feeding the baby.
Veronica: hey mija…hey mijo.
Robert: *Rayleen’s full brother who was only 3 years younger* hey veronica.
Robert walked off and went to the room. Rayleen’s dad went to his room to lay down. He slept all day and worked at night. So we never saw much of my dad in the little time we got to see him. But we were used to it.
So it was just me and Veronica and the baby in the living room. She looked at me and you can tell she had things to tell me.

Veronica: ok. So I told your dad….and he’s upset.
*Rayleen just looked down*
Veronica: but…hes not mad. Just disappointed. You’re his little girl and he can’t …. *sighed* he just… he can’t accept it that your getting older and … you know… doing things like that!! Haha you know your dad. But I mean, he’s had all week to cool off so he’s not gonna beat your ass or nothing!

Veronica: but your appointment is tomorrow. Im gonna take you and your dad is gonna watch Robert and Vincent while we’re gone.
Rayleen: ok…
Veronica: did you tell Mario anything??
Rayleen: no. im only gonna tell him if I am. Theres no point in telling him I THINK I am.
Veronica: ya. Your right.

The next day Rayleen woke up and was SO nervous. Veronica took her to the doctors. They were in the waiting room and it was SO quiet. Then I heard them call my name.
Doctor: Rayleen Carcano??
Rayleen: ya that’s me.

Veronica laughed and followed her in.
The appointment took forever!! Or at least it seemed that way.
When they came out… she wasn’t pregnant. Man, they were both relieved!!
It just sucked that her dad already knew that her and Maio wee having sex now.
It was so embarrassing!! Anyways, It was summer now and Mario was still going over to Rayleen’s house everyday. Right after her mom and stepdad left to work.

Until one day Rayleen was in her room in the late afternoon just listening to music laying down on her bed when her mom walked in all pissed!!

Mom: Mario…that fuckin’ low life your with!

Mom: Im not stupid Rayleen! Your dad told me that you might be pregnant!! And that veronica took you to the doctors on Saturday. Where you planning on telling me??
Rayleen didn’t know what to say. So she didn’t say anything.
Mom: Rayleen, I’m tired of you always fuckin’ up. Your only 15 and you’ve done drugs, snuck out the house, ran away twice, invite people over when we’re gone…im tired of it Rayleen. Pack your shit, your leaving.
*She walked out and slammed the door behind her*

I just started crying and packed my clothes. Every summer im supposed to be with my dad for a week and then my mom the next. I go back and forth until school starts again. So I didn’t know where she was taking me or if I was still gonna go to my dads the next week when I was supposed to.

I got in the car and she dropped me off at my dad’s house. I called Mario and told him what happened but he already knew…

Mario: ya… I already know.
Rayleen: who told you??
Mario: your mom came over here fuckin’ causing a scene! She came to talk to me and my mom. She told me that if I didn’t stay away from you that she’d call the police on me. And that I’m too old to be with you anyways.
Rayleen knew her mom was going to do some stupid shit like that. Her mom was real dramatic when she was mad. She would do anything she can to cause a fuckin’ scene!! Rayleen was so embarrassed that her mom did that. This wasn’t the first time though. She’s done this before MANY times with her ex-boyfriend Billy.

Rayleen: O MY GOD!! Im so sorry Mario. I didn’t know she was gonna do that.
Mario: naw. Its cool.
I aint even trippin over that bitch.
Rayleen kinda laughed.

Rayleen: That sucks. Im sorry Mario. I wish it would have worked out between us.
Mario: wiat. What the fuck are you saying??
Rayleen: well I’m not gonna be able to see you. I don’t know how long im gonna be here for. We can’t be together Mario. I don’t want to get you into any trouble either.
Mario: Man, your gonna fuckin’ listen to your mom?? That’s fucked up. You’re not even gonna try?? You’re just gonna give up like that??
Rayleen: What am I supposed to do Mario??
Mario: Man. Fuck it. That’s your decision. You remember that. Alratos.

Rayleen just broke down and cried. She didn’t know what she was supposed to do. She didn’t where she was gonna be living at or if she was even gonna go back home. So she called up her ex-boyfriend Billy. He lived by her dad. He always knew how to cheer her up when she was down. So he went by Rayleen’s dad’s house and kicked it with her that night.

Rayleen: Damn, I really liked him too.
Billy: I thought you liked me *flirting* haha
Rayleen: shut up foo. Im trying to talk to you.
Billy: haha na I understand. Why didn’t you try to make things work?? Remember your mom did that to us, and that didn’t stop you! You were a ride or die chick for me. Why not for him?
Rayleen: Because Billy, you were my first love. I wasn’t gonna let my mom end it.
Billy: Ya. But you did.
Rayleen: I know. Im sorry I left you for Mario. But I was lost in my own little world with him. And things weren’t going good between us anyways. You started treating me like shit and telling me some fucked up things!
Billy: Im sorry. I didn’t mean to. I just got frustrated about everything that was going on.
Rayleen: well that’s the past now. So you got a new lady or what?
Billy: Ya. Im with Marlena now.

Rayleen remembered back when she was hearing rumors that Billy was cheating on her with Marlena. She hated that girl. She knew her since the 2nd or 3rd grade. Rayleen knew that they fucked around behind her back when billy and her were together. But she never said anything because she loved Billy so much. She didn’t want to let him go. So Billy played her ass for like a year straight when Rayleen finally left him for Mario. Billy and Rayleen had something special though. Something that BOTH of them knew would always be there. They were each other’s first love. Anyways…

Rayleen: o that’s cool. How long you guys been together now?? 2 years?? *laughed*
Billy: haha funny! But no I got with her on your birthday. When I found out that you were dating Mario.
Rayleen: O.

Rayleen knew they were together for longer than that. She wasn’t stupid. But she didn’t say nothing.

Billy: But I don’t wanna talk about her. So what’s up with us now?
Rayleen: what do you mean ‘us’?? I just broke up with Mario a few hours ago!! And u got a lady…so nothing.
Billy: so. *he leaned in and kissed her*
Rayleen kissed him back.

That night they talked about each other and seen each other every night she was at her dad’s house. But the next week Rayleen went to her Grandma’s house. Instead of going back home, she went back and forth to her grandma’s house and her dad’s house. But she wasn’t complaining. Things weren’t so bad. But she still thought of Mario ALL the time. She would think of all the times that they had together and all the stupid things they would say and do.

She remember one time when they were walking down the street holding hands when Mario started singing the wizard of oz!

Mario: *singing* We’re off to see the wizard. The wonderful wizard of oz!
Rayleen:*singing* Because because because because!! Because of the wonderful things he does!!

Mario: DAMN!! I didn’t know the whole song! Haha

Rayleen laughed to herself remembering that moment. She remembered how it started to rain right after…And he picked her up and ran her to somewhere dry. Man, she missed those days. They acted like 2 kids together. She missed Mario so much. She didn’t know if they would ever talk again. She didn’t know anything. She was just going with whatever happened with her head up.

It was the last week of summer and Rayleen was at her grandmas house. She didn't know what she was gonna do about school, or where she was gonna be living once school started. She was only 15. She was barely going into her sophmore year of high school! She didn't worry too much about it though. She only got about 20 credits her freshman year. She didn't do that well in school.

Rayleen still met up with Billy, and still talked to Billy. Rayleen didn't care that he was with Marlena. Rayleen knew that she would mean more to Billy than Marlena ever could. But it irratated Rayleen that she was messing around with Billy when he had a girlfriend. It made him seem like some kind of pimp. Kinda like made Rayleen feel like the 'rebound' girl. So one night she decided to bring it to his attention.

Rayleen: i want to talk to you about something.
Billy: what?
Rayleen: why are you still with Marlena?
Billy: why?
Rayleen: well, we've been talking for about a month now and you're still with her.
Billy: well i didn't plan for you to come back to me.
Rayleen: but i did, so why you still with her?!
Billy: i dont know. i love you rayleen. I do. you know i do. I already proved that to you. And i know you've proven that to me too. but u moved on to Mario remember?? and that fuckin' hurt me so bad. You have no idea girl. Thats when i got with Marlena. I missed you so much. No lie. She was there for me too. But i was so different with her. I treated her like shit. I treated everyone like shit after you left me. I was hurt. You were my everything. I started drinking alot and didn't know how to control it. But she was there and she picked me up when i was down. Im not gonna lie Rayleen, no one can take your place. I'm always gonna have a soft spot for you. You're special to me. You always will be.
Rayleen: ok then why can't we get back together? We've done this a million times Billy. We break up. We fight. We talk about it. We get back together. This time we just moved on for a while. Now we know what its like not to have each other and to have other people.
Billy: its not that easy Rayleen. What if Mario comes back. Then what?
Rayleen: Nothing. I'd be with you. Never mind. I'm not gonna make you do shit that u dont want to.
Billy: Don't trip pretty girl. I'll leave her. I'd pick you over any girl. I love you.
Rayleen: *smiled* I love you too.
*hugged him* you better leave that bitch too!! cuz i aint about to share NO MORE!!

Towards the end of the week Rayleen still hadn't heard shit from her mom. She stayed in her room that day being lazy. She was watching T.V. in the room at her grandma's when her Uncle Jaime walked in.

Uncle Jaime: Hey.

your mom's on the phone
*i got in a mad mood real quick*
Rayleen: hello.
Mom: Hey get all your things together. ill be there soon to go and get you. You got orientation for school tomorrow.
Rayleen: i dont wanna go.
Mom: too bad. you dont have a choice.
Rayleen: i wanna live with dad.
Mom: I don't care. your dad can't take care of you. You know that. There's too many people living at that house. He can't afford you. Ill be there soon. Be ready.

Rayleen was pissed. She didn't want to go home. She already knew that things were gonna be awkward when she walked in. Her brothers Andrew and Robert were gonna treat her like a stranger and her stepdad probably wont even talk to her. She wasn't looking forward to going home.

She went home and her brother Andrew gave her the biggest hug ever! He was only 3 at the time.

Andrew: SISTER!!!
Rayleen: Andrew!! i missed you so much!
Andrew: I missed you too sister! where did you go?? *making a curious face*
Rayleen: i just went to my dads for a little while.
*Rayleen started to tear up*

Robert: hey.
Rayleen: wassup foo
Robert: damn it sucked without you. The house was always quiet. No one really laughed. It was just wierd without you here.
Rayleen: ya i bet. They're pretty boring huh?
Robert: YA.

Rayleen went to her room and unpacked all her stuff. It was weird to see her room again. It was only 2 and a half months but it seemed like forever!! Rayleen wasn't looking forward to going to school. She hated school. Never knew why she even went. All she did was get high before and then sit there till it ended.

She started school. It was alright. Saw all her old homies. She kicked it with nothing but guys. Her whole life. She always got along better with boys than girls. Girls were to much drama. Rayleen was always getting into fights so she stayed away from the girls. So she was happy to see her homies again. They made her laugh hard all the time. She could never be down with them foos around. It was impossible. They were funny ass foos.

After being in school about a month she still thought of Mario. So one day at home she decided to call him up and see if his number was still the same.

[phone ringing]

voice: hello?
Rayleen: is Mario there??
voice: he's not here.
*click*

what the fuck?? that shit never happened... it sounded like his mom. His mom was always nice to Rayleen. Mario had caller ID too so she knew who she was talking to. At least Rayleen knew that Mario was still there and had the same number.

A couple days later Rayleen tried calling again. But from a different number.

Mario: Hello?
Rayleen: hey.
Mario: whos this?
Rayleen: Its me. Rayleen.
Mario: o.
Rayleen: you mad at me?
Mario: yup
Rayleen: why?
Mario: you should already fuckin' know.
Rayleen: Mario...
Mario: so how you been?
Rayleen: *irratated that he interuppted her* alright. and you?
Mario: i been alright. Still here.
Rayleen: Thats cool. I miss you.
Mario: Do you?
Rayleen: ya.
Mario: How much?
Rayleen: *giggled* ALOT!!
Mario:thats good. I miss you too.
Rayleen: so you got a new hyna now or what?
Mario: uhhh...... *got quiet* ya.
Rayleen: whats her name?
Mario: dont trip.
Rayleen: do you like her alot?
Mario: uhh....ya u can say that. i mean, she was there for me when i needed her. shes cool as fuck.

Rayleen was sad to hear that he had a new girlfriend. But she knew it was gonna happen. Its been about 3 or 4 months since she last talked to him.

Mario: So when we gonna kick it??
Rayleen: *smiled* i dont know. when?
Mario: uhh....let me call you back.
Rayleen: ok bye.
Mario: late.

Rayleen was so happy that she heard Mario's voice. She missed him SOOOO much. She's glad she called him. But he had a new lady. So she went back to being sad again.

That night the phone rang.
The caller ID said 'PRIVATE'.
Rayleen knew that it was Mario. But Her mom answered it.

Mom: Hello?
*click*
Mom: HELLO?!?!

She hung up the phone. She was pissed. Rayleen's mom knew it was Mario too. Mario always called PRIVATE. She didn't tell Rayleen that he called but Rayleen knew. Now she was upset because she didn't get to talk to him. She kept thinking 'what if he want to kick it right now?'
She tried to get the phone but her mom hid it in her room so she wouldn't call him. Rayleen was pissed now!!! She wanted a cell phone so bad!! But she couldn't afford one.

Rayleen was laying on her bed all pissed off. Everyone was asleep and the phone was still in her moms room. She figured she'd just call him from school the next day. But she stayed up for a couple hours thinking of all the good times she had with Mario. She got up and opened her closet. She had Mario's sweater still hanging in the there. She also had his t-shirt from that day at the park. She took it off the hook and took off all her clothes. She put on his t-shirt and liad back down.
