For "brown" people in San Antonio
The Museo Alameda has a badass display goin on right now called Phantom Sightings, with the focus being on post-chicano movement art. Not all of the artists are self-proclaimed Chicanos, nor Mexican, but a lot of the art has the same theme of basically Latino/Chicano presence and experiences in the U.S. I went last week, and I'm a college male that hasn't been to a museum in probably 3 years, nor am I an Art fanatic, yet I thought it was awesome to see some Chicano art, made me very proud.
It's located at Market Square and Admission is just a donation (I think 4 dollars a person was suggested). The particular display I saw may only be goin on another couple weeks, but I hear their themes are usually always Latino based. The museo is very modern, I think it opened last year and it's amazing.
Thought this would be a good place to put this, considering u can study some history/art at this place.
