Default Re: Bun B feat. H-Town All Stars - Draped Up (Remix)

He was unfortunately exposed not too long after this song came out. He was signed to the Roc, which was a huge deal at the time because not only was he from Houston and not from the East Coast, but he was Central American and was the first ever Latino on Roc-A-Fella. Having Jay-Z as his boss was the ultimate co-sign in hip-hop.

Anyway, he did some freestyles/songs and talked his life up as if he was from the hood, did a song where he said his father left him at a young age(i believe), and about watching his brother get shot and dying right in front of him. Also said he saw his father get shot... real dramatic shit, painting pictures about his mother crying and how he had to carry his family n shit.

Turns out his father is a police officer on the outskirts of Houston, a suburb (maybe Katy, Texas), much, much better off than where Aztek claimed to be from in Houston, he claimed one of the wards, either 3rd or 5th or somethin when in actuality he was exposed as a suburbian kid who's father had never been shot, brother was alive and in great health, and really lived a very sheltered life. Apparently it didn't take long for him to get exposed, and Jay-Z pretty much just let him go. When he signed there was a huge buzz, and Jay just pretty much played it off and never talked about him again, just said there was some problems and they had to let him go. Aztek was real lucky that all the stuff didn't go national, but u can find the story on google I'm sure. He's still tryin to put out music last time I checked bout a year ago, on the mixtape grind, but I'm sure the damage is done, never gave him another chance.
