“Melanie wait!” he said as he grabbed my hand.
“Fuckin put your hands on me fool!” I said letting lose from his grip.
“Meli we need to talk!”
I kept walking and he was right behind me and Smiley, Perla , and mando were behind him.
“Where’s my baby?” he yelled out as I reached my truck.
I stopped and put my head on the window.
“You mean my daughter?” I said to him.
“You had a girl?”
“Yes. My little girl!”
“Please Melanie!”
“FUck you Junior. She isn’t your daughter!”
“Your fuckin lying! You wouldn’t ever cheat on me!”
“Well you aint no angel”
“Fuck Meli!”
“You fucked up Junior! I waited for you all fuckin night! And you didn’t show up! You fucking left me hanging!!! Why didn’t you go Junior?? Why?” I said in tears.
“I don’t know babe! I was sacred you were going to end things”
“I went to tell you I was pregnant and to finally work things out! After 3 years of so much bullshit, finally something that was going to put a light in our relationship! But no!! you were to fucking scared. Acting like a little kid. You’re a grown ass man Junior”
“I know babe but please forgive me! You don’t know how much I regret not going”
“You wernt fuckin scared. You were fuckin some other bitch! You think I’m stupid. I seen Anaih’s car parked at your brother’s house! I let you cheat on me once. And let you play me twice and even three fuckin times!!!!!! I took so much bullshit from you Junior and for what? For nothing. I fuckin lost my family for you so you could just end up fucking me over! Everyone was right about you.” I said taking a deep breath. “Your nothing but a piece of shit, bueno para nada”
With that I got in the truck and waited for Perla and Mando to get In. and they did a few seconds later.
They didn’t say anything. They just got in and stayed quiet. The music was the only thing that kept us breathing. We got to the house and I got off. I walked into Jazy’s room and seen her sleeping. She looked like an angel. I wanted to cry but I couldn’t anymore. I tried but no tears came out of my eyes.
I walked to my room and looked in the mirror. I started to take my make-up off. And getting ready to sleep. I changed, brushed my teeth and went straight to my bed.
I didn’t end up falling asleep till like 5a.m. and when I woke up I looked over to the clock and it was 5 p.m. Saturday.
And I woke up to the voices of Smiley(Armando Pineda), Joel, my cousin Mando, Perla, Jazzy and Eli
It was 5p.m.
I walked to my room. And brushed my teeth. I was lookin a hot mess. So I took a shower. I got out in like 15 min. I was just gonna wash up.
“WTF is all this noise waking me up?” I said walking into the kitchen.
“Mammmmyyy” Jazzy said running to me hugging my leg.
“My baby momma. I miss you mija” I picked her up and gave her a long hug.
“Mornin sunshine!” smiley said to me.
“Hey asshole”
We all laughed.
I noticed Joel kept looking at me. I just laughed in my head because he would try to play it off but sucked at it!
He was playing with Jazzy, jumping on the trampoline that the guys had just set up. I walked inside the house to get some drinks and smiley walked behind me.
“Hey.” I said to him.
“What happened?”
“Please don’t tell him anything about us”
“Why?”
“Because Jazzy dosnt need him in her life”
“You know your wrong about that”
“How?”
“Because she’s going to want to know who her dad is eventually” he said walking over to me and grabbing my hands. “You and him have been through so much. He still talks about you all the fucking time. He got a job painting boats, he gets paid good money. He’s going back to school to be a mechanic. You know he’s good with cars and shit. He got his life back together. He told me that he’s getting his life straight because when you came back, you guys were going to be together again. Because he said that you said that you’ll always love him no matter what”
“That dosnt change nothing Smiley. Your telling me all of this because he’s your best friend and because you only want what is best for him and you know damn well that it’s me. But it dosnt change what he did the night I left. Did he tell you?”
“Yea. But look she wasn’t at his house….. She was his brothers. The whore was fucking Oscar.”
“What?”
“Yes Melanie. Oscar even told us”
“But still Smiley. I don’t know.” I said getting tears in my eyes. “I wish things were different. I wish he was different”
He hugged me and I cried. Damn smiley always made me extra sensitive and emotional.
“Mommy.. Lloras?”
“No mija. I’m just so happy to be here” I said to her as she walked in with Joel.
“Me to. Yo quiero Joel” she said smiling and then looking at Joel.
I whipped my tears and then gave Joel a drink.
Everyone else came inside after. And we just chilled inside.
“Meli here” Perla said handing me her phone.
“Who is it?”
She gave me a look and I walked outside.
“Hello?”
“Meli?”
“Fabian?” I said and then saying “Fuck” In my head.
“We need to talk?”
“About?”
“Us?”
“Us?” I said laughing. “Fabian there was never an Us with me and you. I told you clearly what we were from the beginning. And that didn’t change”
“But Meli I love you”
“No you don’t. you lust me nikka”
“But”
“Look. I think you should call Pamela and tell her you love her.” after I said that I clicked and was about to throw Perla’s phone but realized it was Perla’s.
“You okay?” Joel said walking outside.
“I’ll be fine”
“Sure?”
“Positive”
I stayed talking outside with Joel. He was a good guy from what he was telling me. Went to school, had a job, lived on his own, no kids, he didn’t drink or smoke. He was 26
“What about you?”
“Well i don’t usually talk about myself to guys. It’s just the present. I don’t talk about my past. But. I was with a guy since I was 17. Im 23 know…. We had been through so much.”
I started telling him about Junior. I just didn’t say his name. I told him everything, everything Junior and I had been through. EVERYTHING.
“Wow.” was all he said when I finished telling me.
“And so here I am know. He was the story of my life. And know it’s just my baby girl and me”
“Damn. You’ve had a hard life” when he said that his cell rang.
“Hello?” he said. “No I cant……. Where you at…….. Okay fine junior. I’ll be there in 10”
He hung up and looked at me.
“I’m so sorry I gotta go. My cousin needs me to pick him up and take him to the hospital to see his son. You going out later?”
“Umm. I don’t know I’ll let you know”
“Alright” he hugged me and gave me a kiss on the cheek and then left.
