I lay awake in bed. Another court date. I cant belive any of this. Dom said hes just trying to get off, which I belive coming from Jonathon. I mean what the hell...? Dose he have put the blame on me! I mean the whole evidence is there!! But today Lalia said she was going to present the diary and lap top today. Yesterday, they came to search Daisys room and took a shit load of her things. Me and mom fought the urge to snatch it back. How am I gonna let them take my sisters things???
I had already hit the snooze botten 3 times so I guess its time to get up. I turned the radio on, "Sober" by pink came on. I turned it up loud and got my things ready for a shower.
"Ahhh the sun is blinding, I stayed up agian..." I sang till mom banged on my bathroom door
"Wait!" I yelled
Than it stoped. When I was done washing up, I slid out and wraped a towel around my body. I walked out and noone was there. What the heak...? I just shrugged. I put on some undies and a bra, than sliped into some dark blue skinny jeans and a black longsleeve and my black vans. I brushed my hair and blow dried it. I changed my lip piearcing to a little diamond stud. Than I brushed my teeth. I grabed my purse and ran down stairs.
"Happy Birthday!" Mom said to me when I came down
"What do you want to eat?" she put the aprin on
Oh right. My Birthday. Im not up to a birthday this year. But I had to be good for mom. I have to!! I smiled.
"Pancakes!"
She rubbed my belly
"An what would my little Daisy want?"
I laughed and took my seat. I drank some orange juice. Today was my second appointment, No wonder Dom was annoyed because they made it for today, I tried to tell him it was ok. So the court ruled out I was pregnant, and order a paternity test after Baby Daisy is born.
"Is Dominic coming?"
"Yes..." I nod
I watched her do her thing in the kitchen untile the doorbell rang. I got up, It must be Dom. I open the door and am not surprised Erika, and lilly are with him.
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!" Erika and Lilly said
I tried not to look upset, so I smiled.
"Thanks!"
They hugged me. Dom laughed at my expression. Erika handed me a bag.
"Its from me and Lilly..."
"Ok..."
"And this..." Lilly handed me a cake she made "Is for you too!"
Oh my gosh! Lilly made the best cakes. She was my betty crooker, just like Angie!
"Mmmm" I took it
"Fatass!" she said
"Shut up!"
I turned around and let them in. I sat the cake on the counter and turned around. Dom wraped his arms around my waist and kissed my lips.
"Happy Birthday!!" he whispered
"Thank you..."
We peaked once more.
"AWWWWW" I heard three voices beside me
I rolled my eyes and began to eat my pancakes. They talked about having a dinner tonight. I dont have a problem with it, but really...? Today...?? I didnt argue because when I had already tried they cut me out of it. Mom was making Posole, Angie was making Enchaladas, and Martha was making carne. Mmm. I was sort of looking forward to it now...
"Open your present!" Lilly said when I ate a piece of cake
"What is it..."
"Thats why its a present!"
I sighed and took a bite. I grabed the bag and opened it. I pulled out a black box. I opened it. It had 3 charm bracelets in it. One was the shape of a heart, the other a star and another a circle. It had purple and diamond jewls on it.
"Its beautiful!"
"Choose one so we can.."
I grabed the star one and it read "Best"
"Bestfriend charms?? We have a bunch of these Lilly!"
"I know but these are costom made, not everyone can have them..."
"oh..."
Me and lilly used to buy the silver bestfriend neaklesses all the time, I have a collection in my room.
"And this one includes Erika!"
"oh..."
"And mine says forever, not just bestfriends, cuz duhh theres three of us!"
"oh..."
"Say something else besides oh!"
"Oh ok. I mean 'oh my god!!' is that better?"
"Yes pretty much..." she nodded
I smiled and began to eat my cake agian. Erika and Lilly left, but claimed theyd be back later today. Mom was changing her clothes. So that left me and Dom. He sat infront of me on the table and slid a little box to me.
"oh no babe you didnt have to get me anything!"
"I wanted too...I always got you things on your birthday!"
An I remembered the other collection of neaklesses!
"You know the best gift you ever gave me was that candy neakless in 3d grade..."
he laughed "I gave you one of those and a bear every birthday untile 6th grade"
"Than you got your first job and got me something real! Something thatd kill me if I ate it!" I laughed agian
We reminised on the old times. And when I was done with my cake he said
"You didnt open it..."
"I know let me eat first, Im hungry..."
"oh..."
After I was finished I chugged somemore orange juice.
"I dont think Iv ever seen you eat so much!" he said surprised
"I dont think I have!"
I went and sat on his lap. He gave me the little black box. An engagement ring...? Please! Like Dom would wanna do this now. I opened the little box and it had a ring in it. My mouth dropped and I looked at him. Now that its here I donno if im ready.
"Its not an engagement ring, if thats what your thinking..."
My heart slowed.
"Promise ring??" I asked
"yes..."
I nodded and smiled.
"So what is your promise?" I asked "Get me something to eat, even THOUGH its in the middle of the night??"
he laughed "Something like that" he joked back.
He took the ring out and grabed my hand he slid it on.
"I promise to Love you FOREVER!"
"FOREVER?" I asked
"Yes..."
"And Ever?"
"Yes..."
"And ever and ever and ever and ever..." I went on till it sounded like and never and thats not what I wanted to say.
I smiled than kissed his lips.
"I love it and I love you!"
I kissed his lips agian.
"Alright come on..." Mom said coming down from the stairs.
We went out to the car and drove to the court house. We got there and met Lalia in the same place. When she walked up she had a tray of coffes and one orange juice. mmm would she mind if I asked for that...? She hugged my mom and handed me the orange juice.
"Thank you..." I said
She hugged me and shook Doms hand.
"So are we ready today?"
"Yes..." I made sure it was true.
I was sitting down in my seat doodling on a piece of paper, over my babys name Daisy Melanie Munoz.... than I scratched that Daisy Melody- but i got cut off. Jonathon walked in and smirked at me. I looked down fast. That stupid smirk was in my nightmares. I took a deep breath and got up when Judge hawkins walked in. He let us sit and than began.
"I see today is your birthday Miss. Flores, happy birthday..."
"Thank you..."
"Ok, what do we have today?"
I listened to them blab on and on and on, I was waiting impatiantly for them to bring up the diary. and when thy did I threw myselfback in there.
"Where did you find this Natalie?" he asked
"Um, Daisys room..."
"Why, may I ask, were you in there...?"
"I just missed her thats all, I wanted to feel closer!"
He didnt answer me, he just continued to read the Diary.
"Mr cunninham, you were more than agresive you were violent! Women do not need to be treated in such manner."
Jonathon didnt answer.
"Abraham Cunninham do you hear me?" the judge boomed
"Yes." he answered promply
"And we have more evidence..."
"go on..." he sat back and folded his hands over his belly
"We found Daisys laptop in her room and the wires were ripped out and cut. We had sent it to Albert White and he rewired it but her harddrive is completly shut out, but we belive it is evedence that he was trying to hide something..." she looked at him
he laughed "Hide what?"
"You think Daisy had a secret diary didnt you Abrham??" she steped closer to the stand "You wanted to whipe it all out, make it seem like her sister did it didnt you?? you not that slick and if you ask me, its pretty obviouse you commited this crime! Your an inconsideret man who cares nothing but himself! Who hurts others to make his self seem strong and on top of the world...is that how you feel...ontop of the world...? King Abrham..."
"I like the sound of that..." he jokes with a smirk
"You disgust me!" she said
he just shrugged
I wanted to get up and throw my book at him. I pictured it too, and the cops carrying me out. I shook the image from my head. I need to act civilized.
"Abraham, where did you say you were the night Daisy got home..."
she walked by the desk sliding her hand on it.
"After we argued, and she left, I left with one of my boys..."
"And your friend is...?"
"Roberto Martinez?"
"Yeah..."
"and where did you go..."
He smirked before he answered "Strip bar..."
"And what did you do there?"
he sighed "Drank a little, and paid for a few lap dances..."
"Than?"
"Than...he dropped me off at home-"
"So you were drunk when you killed Daisy..."
"I didn't kill her..."
"Than who did!"
he smirked at me "Natalie..."
"LIAR!!" I got up and screamed
"Restrain yourself please Natalie!" Lalia said
"Hes a Liar! I wou-"
"Natalie..." she said through her teeth
I bit my toung and sat down.
"So when you got home...?" she continued
"when I got home I went to bed..."
"And Daisy?"
"She wasnt there yet..."
"Yet? So she did come home?"
"No I mean she wasnt there..." he said
"mhm, so what did you do than?"
"Than, I called her like at 2 and she came home..."
2...2am?? I was with Dom at 2am. oh no I was having sex while my sister was getting murdered! Ugh. I put my face in my hands.
"Natlaie are you ok?"
"No...could we um..."
I felt it coming. I was about to vomit.
"Can we um..."
I pushed away from the desk and threw up into a near by trashcan.
"Ew..." someone whispered
"ok 30 minute recess to clean yourself up...." the judge said and than banged his hammer thingy ma-bobber
Lalia patted my back untile I felt doms hands doing it. When I was done, he took me to the bathroom, Mom had a on-the-go toothbrush from the car. I brushed my teeth and washed my face.
"You ok now?" Dom asked
"Mhm..." I nodded as I dried my face
"Ready to go back...we have 5 minutes..."
"Yes..."
He kissed my forehead and grabed my hand. We headed back to the court room where Jonathon still was. I took my seat and the judge came back.
"Are you feeling better?" he asked me
"a little.."
"ok..." he sighed "Lets began"
I listened to Lalia to interogate him and make him nervouse. The wrong things always sliped out. 2 hours later. Next court date is in 1 week. We got up and left. We were walking down the hall.
"I think we have this..." Lalia said
"Why?"
"Besides the evidence they have agianst you, we have everything. The violent recordings, the body, and past. I wouldnt be surprised if we won...."
I just nodded. We made it outside, where reported surrounded me. Dom and Lalia covered me as I ran by. That stupid question came.
"Did you kill your sister Natalie?"
I froze and looked him dead in the eyes.
"No!" I said
And Lalia pulled me to the car. Man I cant take this nomore! I DID NOT KILL MY SISTER! Ugh how I felt like screaming it. I laid my head on Doms shoulder and sighed. My eyes closed and I drifted off to sleep. Dom woke me up when we got to the doctors office. Man todays busy busy busy busy. He droped mom off at home and drove me here. We got out and went inside. I signed it and took my seat. We watched the little kids play with there toys and laugh with there friends and parents.
"Thats going to be us..." I whispered
"What?"
"that little girl with her mom and dad...how their spoiling her...thats gonna be us!"
"yea..."
he kissed my head.
"Daisy Flores..." the nurse called.
I grabed Doms hand and walked in. They weighed me and all that junk. They were giving me more pictures today. Ultrasound pictures and than mom was going to make a photo album. She cant wait. It turns out that im 2 and a half months now. My due date is gonna be sometime in feb. After my appt. Dom bought me bakers. It was freaking bomb. I was hungry. He wasnt worried about if im gonna be to full later, he told me, because I eat like 6 meals a day now. I laughed and hit his arm. We went to his house, Angie had made some cupcakes and two especaly for me and baby daisy. She always rubbed my tummy. Its not like Im showing yet but it still felt weird, I mean hard like. I found myself poking my belly two. Well Angie got ready and left, I donno where she went Dom just said out, and shrugged. Whatever. It turned 6pm. Mom would probly want her car back.
"We should go..."
"ok..."
When we got back in the car Dom played a Cd. "Live in the sky" by T.I. came on. He sang along and I just sighed.

The song made me tear up. I didnt let dom see. he would turn it off and I didnt want him to. It was good. We got to the house. There were alot of cars parked across the street and all the way up. Mom must be relaxing cuz when we walked in the lights were turned off.
"SURPRISE!!"
I heard a loud chant as the lights turned on. I froze.
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!" They screamed agian.
I recognized everyone from school. All my family and friends. I wanted to cry but didnt.
"Oh my god!" I looked at Dom "You knew?"
"yes..." he smiled
"Jerk!" I hit his arm
"Ow!"
Everyone hugged me.. I found Angie and them. I smiled and waved. The music started and everyone danced. I guess the party started.
